Reviewing and analyzing your hand history is a crucial part of your studying routine. Every poker players, serious about progressing in the game should be doing that.
Reviewing a session you have played starts with setting up your poker client to Save your hand histories to a specific place on your computer.
Save Poker Stars Hand History
Your default folder for saving hand histories is: C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\PokerStars\HandHistory
Reviewing Your Hand History
Now you are all set and ready to play. After you finish your tournament or cash game session you will see .txt file(s) in your Hand History folder.
If you try to open these with notepad or other text editor you will see endless scroll of raw text, which is not what we are aiming for.
In order to make your life easy and review your hands in a close to the real table environment, you will need a software to convert this text into visual graphics for you.

After completing the process you will be able to run the Universal Replayer and import your hand history for review!
Import & Replay Your Hand History
Once you run the Replayer you will see the following screen:
From here the easiest way is to Drag and Drop your .txt file to this window. Note that Universal replayer works with .xml files and the program has to convert the default Poker Stars generated file into a suitable for displaying one. This is a quick process as the software is doing it for you.
Hit OK and Voila! You are now in your seat from the first hand you have played in that particular tournament/ cash game.
Now just navigate with the buttons on the bottom of the screen to move the action forward. The interface is not complicated at all so you will quickly learn how this works.
